Background:

Often, large pieces of leather are discarded because they have surface imperfections, such as scratches and wounds from the animals' lives. Inspired by my experiences as a busy urban creative who yearns for comfort, style, and utilitarian function, I created Remnants, a collection of hand-crafted leather accessories that were designed to fulfill specific needs, while also highlighting both the durability and unique beauty of these less desirable pieces of leather.
The Remnants collection was designed on the premise that our everyday wares can be both statement-making and utilitarian. No two pieces in the collection are the same, and each piece is meant to be used as much as it is meant to be treasured and held onto for years to come.
This inaugural collection of Remnants was hand-crafted from a combination of leather remnants sourced in New York and Portland, Oregon, and premium vegetable-tanned European cow hide. Vegetable-tanned leather is the most environmentally friendly option available for leather tanning. It is long-lasting and ages beautifully. Each piece in the collection is unique due to the limited supply of materials.
